This Christmas season has been really great!! This is the first time in 11 years that I haven't had 3 or 4 Christmas concerts to put on. Hurray!!
I also don't have the money to spend on gifts and I have to say it's kind of nice. I'm making my gifts this year and I love thinking about the person as I craft their gift instead of quickly picking up a gift card at the last minute for them.
I have had so many wonderful days of truly appreciating this beautiful season and focusing on Jesus, the whole point of all this. Waiting in lines is easier---where do I have to go? Coffee is tastier. Malls are festiver (yea, I know it's not a word, but it's kinda fun). It's amazing how much less stress you have when you don't have a lot of money.
I want to share this particular Nativity scene (which I have at home), because I LOVE the representation of Mary and Joseph. I love how Mary is holding Jesus and not just staring at Him in the manger. I love how Joseph has his hand on his heart almost as if in awe, wonder and love.

We all strive for happiness, many times to no avail. This year I choose joy. Slow down. Appreciate the world around you that is a gift from God. Choose joy.
Merry Christmas!!

Excellent Post!
I like that nativity scene, too. I love that Mary is holding Jesus...I think that is exactly what she would be doing...not just staring at him like, "What am I supposed to do with him?"
