Sabbath

Now that I'm teaching a few lessons on Saturday and working with a vocal ensemble on Sunday I wondered where the "day off/Sabbath" was. I decided to make one. My guidelines are that from 1pm Saturday to 1pm Sunday I will not "work" on anything, I will not do errands (as much as possible), and I will go to worship at church. Piece of cake!! I can do this.

It's a little harder than it looks. As soon as I got back home from teaching I thought to myself, "I should work on putting together the material for my new students." No!! Why is work so easy to get sucked into? Why is it so hard to rest? I'm happy to say that even though I thought about slipping into work I stopped myself and had a nice "Sabbath."

Take time to rest.

Yeah - esp. if you work out of your house! It's just so easy to slip into work when there is nothing to do.

Does the Flea Market count as "time to rest?" : )
