Words

I kept thinking about this Jason Mraz song that talked about words. Enjoy while you read the "Words" post. :)

I love words! I love making up my own words. Some of these are stolen, but because I use them way more than the person I stole them from I claim them as my own. Some are a collaboration. Anyway, here we go:

1. G-ma: This is what I now call my Grandma. She called me the other day and said, "Hi Chris. This is G-ma." I love that I've gotten her to say it too!!
2. B-friend: Short for boyfriend. I think my boyfriend thinks it's funny but probably not his favorite thing I call him. Although he did call me G-friend yesterday, which I thought was a riot!!
3. Corn-puter: Don't know why it comes out that way, it just does.
4. Corn-fused: Have to give Abbey props for this one, but again, I use it way more than she does, AND....I've gotten my elementary school students to use it too!! "Miss Welkley, I'm confused." "You're what?" "Confused." "You're WHAT???" "I'm corn-fused." "How can I help?" :)
5. Earball: Typically if my eye hurts I say, "That hurts my eyeball." So it just kinda translated that when my ear hurts I say, "That hurts my earball."
6. Gershwin: I'm not stupid enough to say I made up Gershwin (I am a music educator for goodness sake), but it's how I use Gershwin. "OH....MY.....GERSHWIN!!!" It's so music nerdy. I LOVE IT!!
7. Goofus-arelius: That's a MAJOR goof. Some people need to know that they are REALLY goofy.

There are sooooo many more. It's really almost becoming another language.
