Gimmicks

I am so over gimmicks! I have recently been really shocked, and to be quite honest, disgusted by gimmicks revolving around the church and missions. Why do we need gimmicks to get people to go to church?
*This church has great music.
*This church has different styles of services.
*This church has candles.
*This church has really good communion (yes, some churches "mix-it-up" with the elements).

Then there is missions:
*This trip is building a house/church.
*This trip is helping doctors.
*This trip is doing sports.

Now, there is nothing inherently wrong with any of these thing. But when you're making decisions on where to go to church or how to serve based on "extras", THEN it becomes a problem. I'm a little nervous to open the REAL floodgates on this subject because I don't think I'd know where or when to stop.

I will leave it at this. Go to church and serve because you love God and want to use your life to serve Him. The end.
