Oh yarn!! I did NOT think that I would ever be excited about yarn, but..... I suppose it all started with my oh-so-fun scarves. I love wearing scarves! A student of mine said that she made her own scarves and offered to make me one. She never did. So....I decided, why wait?? I'll teach myself how to knit and have scarves coming out the wazoo. Thanks to my fabulous niecey I learned. My first attempt, not so good. Behold:
Today, I went and bought some new yarn. I couldn't believe that I actually stood there for a lengthy period of time just staring at all the yarn. There's actually A LOT of different kinds of yarn. Who knew?? Here are some of my purchases:
Oh the possibilities!! Sad that I can only knit down. Oh well, scarves for everyone!!

I really like your red scarf...I don't think it's that big.
Also, I LOVE the purple-y yarn you got. Purdy!!
It's been a while since you posted this-any luck at getting better? It's one of those things that the more you do, the better you get-and more addicted. Happy knitting! (And if you want something to listen to while knitting, I recommend Lime 'n Violet's podcast-search for them on blogger to the link).
Hello, One Girl. Don't know if you'll ever see my comment back to you. I have been doing more knitting and I'm getting better and better. I'm always trying new tricks (ie 2 or 3 different kinds of yarn together, fringe, knots). It's a lot of fun!
